3 Hours Before Flight Time
You fly to Tirana and will be picked up at the airport by your tour guide. After being greeted, drive to your hotel in Kruja/Tirana.
After breakfast drive to Skodra to visit Rozafa Castle. The fortress complex, located on a hill, picturesquely overlooks the confluence of the Drina and Bruna. In the distance you can also see Lake Skadar and the Albanian Alps. Afterwards, a panoramic drive takes you along Lake Skadar to the secluded valley of Kelmend. Your destination is the picturesque mountain village of Lepushe. Overnight in Shkodra area
On the way to Budva we will visit the symbol of Montenegro, Sveti Stefan. We will have a fantastic view of this magical island from a great vantage point. We will arrive in Budva, the next highlight. At over 2,500 years old, the old town is one of the oldest on the Adriatic coast. We stroll through the narrow streets and enjoy the Mediterranean flair. Of course, we will also visit the famous statue of the Ballerina – a truly magical place. Overnight in the Budva area
After breakfast we drive along the famous Gulf of Kotor. The sight is simply breathtaking. In the shadow of the mighty Mount Saint Ivan we then walk through the old town of Kotor and are amazed by this picturesque UNESCO World Heritage Site. We stay overnight in the Budva area.
After our check-out we drive to Dubrovnik. Explore the historic old town of Dubrovnik, protected by the city walls, with an optional excursion. Most of the buildings in the old town are characterized by Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque influences. These include, above all, the Franciscan monastery with the oldest pharmacy in Europe and the rector’s palace with the city museum. For centuries, people from all over the world have been fascinated by the old town, inspired and, especially artists, influenced in their work, which is particularly evident in the interior design of the official buildings. After the city tour you still have enough time to stroll through the city or to linger in one of the numerous cafés. Overnight in Rum Dubrovnik.
Next stop on the way to Bosnia is the small town of Ston . The city walls of Ston are a popular tourist destination. The walls are still very well preserved and are 5.5 kilometers long. After the Great Wall of China, the old city walls of Ston are the second longest preserved city walls in the world. The city wall, which goes up into the mountains, was built to protect the people, but especially to protect the salt pans from salt robbers at that time outweighed with gold or precious stones. After that we enjoy a wine tasting** in a wine cellar on the Pelješac peninsula, which is home to the best red wines in Croatia. Upon arrival in the Medigorje area, accommodation in the hotel.
The interior of Bosnia-Herzegovina Medjugorje, with 2.5 million pilgrims annually one of the most famous Christian pilgrimage sites in the world. There we will visit this well-known holy place where the Mother of God appeared to 6 young people. After that we drive to Mostar. Worthwhile is u.a. the famous “Old Bridge” of Mostar (UNESCO World Heritage Site). We stay overnight in hotel in the Mostar area.
You leave Mostar and drive to Lake Rama. Enjoy the nature around this beautiful artificial lake! You will then visit the Franciscan monastery located here. It is the most important and best decorated church in Bosnia-Herzegovina, built in 1881. The monastery houses a very nice art gallery and you can visit the ethnographic museum established here. Learn about life in the Rama region and marvel at the exhibits on ancient crafts, the economy and life in the region. Afterwards your journey continues to Sarajevo, where you will check into your hotel.
After breakfast your guide will pick you up and together you will discover the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina during a city tour. First you visit the old town of Sarajevo with the Bašcaršija Square. Especially the Sebilj fountain, which has the shape of a kiosk, will catch your eye. In the Kazandžiluk Street area, your guide will explain the origins of the copper and tin industry here in the city. Continue walking to the local markets and streets where you will find the city’s main restaurants and shops. Try local delicacies, like burek or pita!
As you continue your tour, you will see the Latin Bridge, near which the assassination attempt on the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand was carried out, which ultimately led to the First World War. Arriving in downtown Sarajevo, marvel at the facade of the cathedral, the bell tower and the farmers’ market.
After your lunch break, your transfer driver will take you to the “Sarajevo Tunnel”, an escape tunnel closely linked to the history of the city. After a short introductory film, walk along this tunnel, which was used in the 1990s to escape but also to supply the besieged city. In the museum you can still see some exhibits from this period. Before the day ends, visit a brewery that was founded in the 19th century. According to some historians, it is probably the oldest in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
After breakfast you and your travel companion will be transferred to Sarajevo Airport.
